Ronald M. "Chick" Dennis

Ronald M. “Chick” Dennis, 87, of Lima, passed away Monday, November 6, 2017 at St. Rita’s Medical Center. He was born on October 5, 1930 in Mather, PA to the late John B. and Elizabeth {Twyford} Dennis. On February 23, 1952, he married Dora J. “D.J.” {Distefanis}, who survives in Lima.
Ronald served in the Marine Corps. He was an Elder at Southside Christian Church and was a dedicated volunteer at the Freedom Flag Monument in Lima. He also was an unconditionally loving family man.
He is survived by his wife, daughter Rochelle (Rick) Dennis Twining, sons Ronald M. Dennis Jr. and Brian (Tina) Dennis, 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, sister Rosalie Dennis, sisters-in-law Joy Dennis and family, Lena Varndell, Shirley Weirs, and Cecelia Hughes, and brother-in-law James Distefanis. Ronald was preceded in death by his brothers John Dennis and Garnet Throckmorton.
His family will receive friends on Friday, November 10, 2017 from 5-8PM at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. A funeral service will begin on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 10AM at Southside Christian Church, Lima, Ohio. Rev. Todd Cosart will officiate. Burial will follow at Shawnee Cemetery.
