Rosemary Smith 87, died at 2:55 p.m. January 1, 2008, at Lima Memorial Health System. She was born January 2, 1920, in Lima, Ohio to Orville and Margaret Huber Bame, who preceded her in death. On July 2, 1938, she married David James Smith, who died November 17, 1999. Mrs. Smith had been a secretary for McBride & Kingsberry, Dr. Snowball and Griffin Insurance. She was a member of Gardendale Church of God. She was a volunteer at Lima Memorial Hospital for 20 years. Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Smith McDonald, of Charlotte, N.Carolina; two sons, Bruce (Karen) Smith, of Lima, Ohio, and Jonathan (Melody) Smith, of Vevay, Indiana; a brother, Harvey Bame, of Turnwater, Washington; 12 grandchildren, Rise Ward, Douglas D. Ward, Dr. Eric V. Ward, Cameron Smith, Kim Elsea, Serenedy Smith, Kable McAlpine, J.R. Smith, Jeff Mc-Donald, Steve McDonald and Dr. Mark McDonald; and 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Gary Smith and Paul Smith; two brothers, Orville ?Jr.? Bame and Verlin ?Bud? Bame; and a granddaughter, Julie Ward. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Terry Davy will officiate. Burial will be in Salem Mennonite Cemetery.
