Rowland E. ?Rolly? Rone , 83, died at 10:25 a.m. April 19, 2009, at his residence. He was born November 12, 1925, in Lima, Ohio to Gerald and Emma Jane Hicks Rone, who preceded him in death. On October 1, 1950, he married Pauline ?Polly? Frail, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mr. Rone was co-owner and operator of The Pride of Lima. He was a member of the Lima Baptist Temple, where he taught Sunday school and was a member of the choir and its Master Builders Sunday school class. He was a 60-year member of Lodge 585 Free & Accepted Masons and a member of the Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton. He was a member of the National Association of Radiation Survivors. He was a Navy veteran serving from Jan 20, 1944, to June 17, 1947. He loved spending time with his family. He loved photography, reading, singing and music. Survivors also include two sons, Craig (Linda) Rone and Matt (Rhonda) Rone, both of Lima, Ohio; a daughter, Dana Rone Palmer, of Lexington, Ohio; a brother, Gerald (Patricia) Rone Jr., of Waynesfield, OHio; seven grandchildren, Rebecca Granger, Melissa Rone, Tara Simmering, Matthew (Jessica) Rone, Jacob Rone, Joshua Rone and Hannah Rone; two step grandchildren, Stacey Kinkel and Scott Palmer; three great-grandchildren, Adam Granger, Haley Granger and Macie Simmering; and a step-great-grandchild, Sophie Palmer. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Larry Palmer; and a brother, Marc Rone. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at Lima Baptist Temple. Pastor Gary Hohman will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
