Roy C. Coon

Roy C. Coon, 91, of Lima, passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 5:40 a.m. at St. Rita’s Medical Center. He was born on June 21, 1930 in Lima to the late Roy D. and Bessie {Fowler} Coon. On September 10, 1955, he married Kathryn Suzanne {Wyre}, who survives him in Lima.

Roy retired from Ford Motor Company and was in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of First Evangelical and Reformed Church and spent 20 years with the Boy Scouts. He enjoyed tinwork, computers, and photography.

He is survived by his wife, sons, Ted S. (Kimberly) Coon and Eric R. (Sheila) Coon; daughter, Nancy Bendon; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Richard Coon and Charles Coon.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Alice Hullinger and Virginia Moler; and brothers, Robert Coon and Jack Coon.

A private service will be held with Pastor Gary Beatty officiating. A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring.
