ROY E. JARRELL, 67, died at 6:05 a.m. September 24, 2004, at Veterans Administration Center Hospital, Dayton, Ohio. He was born June 9, 1937, in Cannelton, W.Virginia, to Alga Otto and Lola Pauline Blake Jarrell, who preceded him in death. On September 7, 1970, he married Eileen F. Hahn, who died March 1, 2002. Mr. Jarrell was a laborer at Air Foil Textron, retiring in 2000. He was a member of Lima Baptist Temple, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275 and American Legion Post 96, all in Lima. Ohio. He was a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans Chapter 19 and an adjunct member for five years. He was also a member of the DAV Commanders Club. He enjoyed woodworking crafts with his wife. He was a veteran, serving in the Marines from 1956 to 1970. Survivors include a daughter, Anna Maria Jarrell; three sons, James Jarrell, Robert Jarrell, Scott Jarrell and Roy Jarrell, Jr.; four stepsons, Gary (Kim) Gootee, John (Karen) Gootee, Rick Gootee and Kenneth (Eva) Reynolds; a stepdaughter, Sharon Gootee Hurst; 13 grandchildren, two great- grandchildren, 15 step grandchildren and 23 step great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Betty Jarrell; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Sydney Jarrell, Robert Jarrell and Leonard Jarrell, and three sisters, June Archer, Louella Henry (Early) and May Jarrell. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Chaplain Bill Hogan will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Hills Cemetery, New Hampshire. VFW Post 1275 will perform graveside military services at noon. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to donor's choice.
