RUBEN GRIFFITH, JR. 89, died at 7:40 p.m. February 16, 2007, at Springview Manor Nursing Home. He was born December 19, 1917, in Blainetown, Kentucky, to Ruben and Mary Cordal Griffith, Sr., who preceded him in death. On January 31, 1948, in Louisa, Kentucky, he married Jessie Griffith, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mr. Griffith worked for Landmark Feed co. He served in the Army from December 17, 1942, to November 27, 1943.He enjoyed being outside and loved gardening. Survivors also include two daughters, Betty (Ed) Duddy and Wilma (Duane) Bowers, both of Lima, Ohio; six grandchildren, Victoria Duddy, Melissa Duddy, Charlotte Parker, Samantha Duddy, Adam Bowers and Sarah Bowers; two great-grandchildren, Sierra Parker and Nathan Swem; and a sister, Tora Stevens. He was preceded in death by a sister, Edna Stone; two brothers, John Griffith; and Herbert Griffith; and two half brothers, Henry Griffith and Charlie Griffith. Services will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor David Howell will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday and 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Springview Manor Nursing Home.
