Russell Garrett

Russell, age 91 years old passed away at 11:28 a.m. in the morning on Sunday, January 28, 2018. Russ was born September 2, 1926 in Troy, Ohio. He was the son of Mary and Russell Garrett who preceded him in death. On December 29, 1975 he married Marlene Kinkle who preceded him in death.

Russ lived in Lima, Ohio and worked as a pipefitter for over 40 years. He worked for the Lima Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 776.

Russ was a hunter and fisherman. He had a place up in Canada where he fished a lot. He was a member of the American Legion Post 96, Lima, Eagles and VFW Post 1275, Lima.

Russ is survived by one daughter, Diane (Bill Lowry) Hammon of Cape Coral, Fl; three sons, Steve (Rebecca) Garrett who lives in Lima, Ohio, Gary (Nancy) Garrett who is from Anna, OH and Greg (Rusty) Garrett who lives in Lima, OH; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2018, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.

A funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Rev. Larry Ayers will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, Ohio,
