Ruth G. Bailey passed from our lives on January 5, 2014. She was 94.
She was married to Franklin R. Bailey for 66 years, until his death in 2006.
She retired as Vice President and Trust Officer at The Metropolitan Bank of Lima, Ohio in 1983 after 29 years.
In earlier years, Ruth enjoyed golfing, and skiing and boating with her family. After her retirement, she learned computer skills to e-mail her family and to research topics that caught her interest. Always mentally active, in the last year of her life, she was learning to play bridge
Ruth had been a member of Lima Elks Auxiliary, a Life Member of VFW Post 1275 Auxiliary, and had served as PTA vice president and secretary at Longfellow School in Lima. She volunteered for a variety of charitable causes. She was a member of High Street United Methodist Church, which is now Westside U.M. church.
She is survived by two daughters, Karen Beers of Chattanooga, TN, and Karol Bailey of Seal Beach, CA; a brother, James Chiles of Port Orange, FL; three grandchildren, Kerri Beers of East Alton, IL, Brian Beers of Murfreesboro, TN, and Michael Bailey of San Diego, CA; and two great grandchildren, Marianne and Katherine Bailey of San Diego, CA.
