Ruth L. Shirey, age 93, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 18, 2016.
She was born January 10, 1923 in Kalida, Ohio to John and Nellie (Reynolds) Seitz who preceded her in death. On October 23, 1942, she married Edward "Jim" Shirey and he preceded her in death on August 1, 1999.
Ruth was an avid golfer and a member of Lost Creek Country Club and BPOE #54, Lima. She is survived by her daughter; Shanda (Mike) Schroeder of Lima, 5 grandchildren; Bret (Julie) Schroeder, Staci (Mike) Sims, Michele (Kevin) Kroeger, Holly (David) Taylor and Amber (Jamie) Sizemore and 7 great grandchildren; Courtney, Hannah, Brittany, Abigail, Austin, Grace and Noah. Ruth was preceded in death by 4 sisters and a brother.
Visitation will be held at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 from 2 to 8 pm. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at 10 am at St. Charles Catholic Church with Father Jim Szobonya officiating. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery.
