Ruth A. Taylor 92, died at 2:45 p.m. October 12, 2009, at Lima Convalescent Home. She was born March 14, 1917, in Lima, Ohio to Ira and Orpha Himes Sterrett, who preceded her in death. On January 3, 1940, she married John W. Taylor, who died Augyst 26, 1977. Mrs. Taylor was a member of the Ohio Nurses Association and the National Nurses Association. She had been a volunteer with the American Red Cross. She was a graduate of St. Rita?s School of Nursing. She retired in 1977 from St. Rita?s Medical Center. Survivors include two daughters, Judith Ann (Harold) Rahrig, of Lima, OHio, and Audrey Kay (Jacque) Neidemire, of Williamsburg, Virginia; two sisters, Isabel Williams and Dorothy Tigner, both of Lima, Ohio; four grandchildren, Michael Rahrig, Andrea (Anthony) Friemoth, Christopher (Mellisa) Neidemire and Traphena Scott; and two great-grandchildren, Lotus Neidemire and Mason Scott. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bernard Sterrett and Cyril Sterrett; and a sister, Elayne Wheelbarger. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Minister Mark Vernik will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
