Samuel Eugene Logan, 86, died at 8:26 p.m. March 8, 2008, at Lima Convalescent Home. He was born March 3, 1922, in Westminster, Ohio to Francis and Lenola Gephart Logan, who preceded him in death. On July 27, 1940, he married Maxine Helen McGuire, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mr. Logan originally worked for Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton. He retired first from B.F. Kohli after 18 years as a plumber. Later, he retired from Sarasota Hospital after serving as maintenance supervisor for 13 years. He formerly was a member of Perry United Methodist Church and then was a member of Cable Road Alliance Church. He was a member of Plumbers and Pipefitters union Local 776. He had served on the Perry school board and was a former member of Indian Lake Coast Guard Auxiliary and Perry Grange. Survivors include two sons, Ron (Carol) Logan, of Dunkirk, Ohio, and Wilbur L. (Diane) Logan, of Lima, Ohio; and four grandchildren, three step grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and eight step great-grandchildren, all of Lima, Ohio. He was preceded in death by a brother, Junior Logan; and a sister, Emma Logan. Services will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor Ronald Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, Ohio. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita?s Hospice, 770 W.
