Sharon O'Brien

Sharon Sue O’Brien passed away on August 2, 2021 at Northside Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville, Georgia.  She was born on September 18, 1938 in Lima, Ohio to the late Harry and Marjorie (Schaadt) Wagner.

Sharon graduated from St. Gerard’s Regional High School in 1956 and attended St. Francis College in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. She was a member of Delta Alpha Chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and a retired realtor. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Flowery Branch, Georgia.   She was a life-long Ohio State fan. Nothing was more important to her than her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by a son, John (Marie) O’Neill of Dacula, GA; two daughters, Natalie Mathias of Lima and Martie (Jack) Bishop of Lima; 10 Grandchildren Jason (Kendra) Mathias, Tyson (Gabrielle) Mathias, Chelsea (Corey) Hanjora, Kathleen (Chris) LaFevers, Ray O’Neill, Josh (Stephanie) Bishop, Jeremy Bishop, Jaden Bishop, Jensen Bishop, and Madison Bishop; 13 great-grandchildren Ella, Easton, Breslin, Ramsey, Brooks, Palmer, Noah, Isaac, Zach, Brooklyn, Brody, Bennett, and Baylor; a brother Herb (Charlotte) Wagner; niece Dawn Wagner and nephew Chad (Jamie) Wagner.

Her family will receive friends on Thursday August 26 from 4:00 to 7:00 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, August 27 at 10:30 AM at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church in Lima.  Burial will follow at Gethsemani Cemetery in Lima.

Memorial Contributions can be made to the Allen County Humane Society or the American Lung Association.
