Shirley Adams

Shirley Adams, 90, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 8:35 a.m. at Lima Memorial Health System. 

 Shirley was born on December 5, 1934, in Lima, Ohio to Luther Aldrich and Elizabeth (Bauman) Strawser. On October 10, 1952, she married Gary Adams, who preceded her in death on February 3, 2024. 

 On October 10, 1952, Shirley married the love of her life, Gary Adams. They shared 71 years of marriage together. She was a 1952 graduate of Lafayette High School. Shirley was a Sunday school teacher, and the Superintendent of Sunday School. She was also a Cub Scout Den Mother and a Girl Scout Leader. Shirley also drove the school bus for Elida. She loved working on genealogy and was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary #370. Shirley also loved dancing and roller skating with the love of her life Gary. 

 She is survived by her children, Doug (Candy) Adams, Tracy (Steve) Sdao, Leslie (Jerry) Kunz; grandchildren, Gary (Trista) Adams, Aubrie Breedlove, Jenny (Brian) Loose, Mara (Greg) Beougher, Lindsey Moeller, Brooke (Dan) Binkley, Alison Moeller, Tahler Sdao, Abby Kunz, and Tanner (Krista) Kunz; twelve great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Broderick “Rick” Moeller; and many nieces and nephews.

 Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl “Sue” Moeller; siblings, Edith Lammers, Gladys Martin, Luther “Pal” Aldrich, and Carol Tuttle; and a half-brother, Melray Aldrich.

 The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025, with one hour of visitation prior at the funeral home. Rev. Paul Scannell will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Elida. 

 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
