Shirley M. Evans, 73 of Elida, Ohio died on Saturday, September 17, 2011, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.
Born April 28, 1938 in Lima, Ohio, she was the daughter of Marion Swallow and Nellie (Taylor) Swallow who preceded her in death On August 9, 1967 in Lima she married Lamar Evans and he survives in Elida.
She was a graduate of Lima Senior High School, Class of 1956 and a graduate of the Fort Wayne Bible College. She attended Grace Community Church. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and painting. She also played the organ and piano. She was a teacher's aide for 10 years for Lima City Elementary Schools.
Surviving are sons, Lowell Evans of Elida, OH and Nathan Evans of Lima, brother, Gene (Janice) Swallow of Lima, OH.
The funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, September 20, 2011, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home .
