Shirley Joan Wills, 87, passed away at 12:39 p.m. on November 21,2022, at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
Shirley was born on April 7, 1935 in Lima, Ohio to Leo “Pete” and Helen (Lytle) Heffner. On April 19, 1972 she married Grandvill “Granny” H. Wills who preceded her in death.
Shirley was a 1953 graduate of Lima South High School. She worked as a secretary at the Lima Eagles Aerie 370. She was a member of the Lima Eagles, Moose, and the VFW. Shirley was an Avid Buckeyes fan. She loved animals and enjoyed watching and feeding birds. Shirley also enjoyed Kewpee Hamburgers, at the uptown location.
She is survived by her children, Cheryl Mack-Williams, Stephen Wills, Jim (Jean) Mack, Jennie Wills-Sheldon, and Jeff (Patricia) Mack; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother Tom Heffner; and a sister-in-law Alberta “Toots” Heffner.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Laurie Jo Mack; a son, Gary Wills; a son-in-law, Greg Sheldon; siblings, Leo (Marian) Heffner Jr., Betty (Orville) Walls, Jack Heffner, and Gene (Billie) Heffner.
The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. A funeral service will follow at 2p.m. Rev. Bryan Meadows will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Homeless to Home Animal Rescue and Cat Sanctuary.
