Sonya Michele Crites,

50, of Lima, Ohio passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018 at St. Rita’s Medical Center surrounded by family.  Her strong faith enabled her to remain a brave fighter to the end of her battle with cancer.

Sonya was born on September 28, 1967 to David and Rebecca (Lohr) Crites.  She is survived by her parents, her two children, Andrea Crites of Columbus and Tyler Crites of Westerville, her sisters Yolonda (Douglas) Fett of Westerville and Tamara (Paul) Blausey of Elmore, five nieces and nephews, Noah Fett, Xavier Fett, Drake Blausey, Ellie Fett, Gracie Blausey, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Sonya is preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Don and Marjorie (Allen) Lohr, paternal grandparents Urbanus “UB” and Ora “Gracie” (Mason) Crites.

Sonya attended Gomer Elementary, Elida Middle School and Elida Senior High School where she graduated in 1985. Sonya was a proud member of the EHS Band Alumni. She attended Edison Community College and studied computer technology. She worked at Auto Owners for many years. Her greatest accomplishment and pride were her two children whom she enjoyed spending time with.

Sonya attended Crossroads Church of God.   She was passionate about her volunteer work in the community.

Friends and family may call Wednesday, June 6, 2018 from 12 noon to 2 PM. The funeral service will be held at 2 PM following visitation on Wednesday.

Interment will be held in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family would like to express their gratitude to Angel Flight and Hospice of Northwest Ohio and Rochester Mennonite Home. They would also like to thank the wonderful staff at St. Rita’s in the 5K Wing for their excellent care.
