Stephen L. Shaffer

Stephen L. Shaffer, 51, passed away at 6:59 p.m. on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center.  Stephen was born on July 30, 1970, in Lima, Ohio, to L. Roger Shaffer and Carol (Stockton) Briggs.

Stephen was a 1988 graduate of Shawnee High School.  He worked in sales and repair in the appliance industry and then security for Allied Services at Ford Motor Company.  He was such a joyous person,  had a great sense of humor and a very contagious laugh.  He loved to play games, whether board, card, or computer.  He also was a movie buff and loved sitcoms.

He is survived by his mother, Carol (James) Briggs of Spencerville, OH; brother, Aaron (Lindsey) Shaffer of Lebanon; stepbrother, Justen (Anna) Briggs; nephew, Konner Briggs; and niece, Jasemine Briggs.

He was preceded in death by his father, L. Roger Shaffer; paternal grandparents, Lewis and LaVere Shaffer; maternal grandparents, Karl and Vera Stockton; and special aunt, Janell Stockton.

The family will receive friends from 1 – 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.   The funeral service will follow at 5 p.m.  Pastor Al Elmore will officiate.
