Steve Horvath, 78, died at 2:01 p.m. Jan 24, 2009, at St. Rita?s Medical Center. He was born June 13, 1930, in Harmer County, Pa., to George and Elizabeth Schvarcz Horvath, who preceded him in death. On March 10, 1951, he married Marilyn Nancy Hahn, who survives in Lima. Mr. Horvath retired from the Allen County Sanitary Engineer?s Office in 1993 as a maintenance supervisor. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1951 to 1957. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6772, Spencerville. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370, Lima. Survivors also include four daughters, Marilyn Kay Horvath, Peggy (fianc? Nick Ciminillo) Siefker, and Beverly Ann (Terry) Nordby, all of Frostproof, Fla., and Joyce Lynn (Dave) Jordan-Kuehl, of Wapakoneta; a brother, William (Carol) Horvath, of Lima; three grandsons, Jonathon Colson, Joe Foust and Craig Foust; three granddaughters, Nancy (Asa) Mortimer, Rochelle (Billy) King, and Jennifer Colson; and 10 great-grandchildren, Erika, Logan, Casey and Hannah Mortimer, Jadon, Javin and Jynaya Hammond, and Chase Aubrey and Izabella Foust. He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul David Horvath; three sisters, Ann Cassidy, Helen Ward and Irene Olliver; two brothersin-law, Merle Harruff and John Olliver; three nephews, Larry Harruff, Dwight Harruff and Gary Ward; and a niece, Irene Harruff. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Chamb e r l a i n - H u c k e r i e d e Funeral Home. Pastor Jon Spyker will officiate. Burial will be in Spencerville Cemetery, with military rites by VFW Post 6772. Friends may call from 1 to 3 and 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
