Steven Paul Foust Sr.

Steven Paul Foust Sr., 66, of Lima, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s, after giving cancer one of the biggest battles it’s ever seen. 

Steven was born on October 13, 1958, in Lima, Ohio, to Joseph F. and Pauline Louise (Funi) Foust Sr. On April 21, 1979, he married the love of his life, Sherry (Hale) Foust, who he enjoyed forty years of marriage with until her passing on December 24, 2019.

Steve attended and graduated from Lima Central Catholic Schools in 1977. Steve worked for GROB Systems for many years until his retirement in 2020. Steve was truly a treasure to anyone who has ever met him. He did not know a stranger and loved to talk and socialize wherever he went. Steve was a lifelong lover of fishing, that began with his family as a boy, up at the Auglaize River. He shared that love with his two sons and all of his grandchildren. If you knew Steve, you also knew that he loved to play poker and went on many adventures to casinos with various members of his family. He was known to be quite lucky, and won numerous 50/50 pots through the years at his grandchildren's many sporting events that he loved to attend. Most of all, Steve loved his family fiercely and had a wonderful way of making friends become like family. He will be missed by so many.

Surviving Steve are his two sons, Steven P. Foust Jr. and Kenny (Rachel) Foust; his grandchildren: Alexandria, Sadie, Claire, Gwyneth, and Paul Foust; a sister, Sr. Shirley Foust; three brothers, Jim (Betty) Foust, Bill Foust, and Craig (Sonya) Foust; as well as many nieces and nephews who were all very special to him.

Steve was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry; his parents, Pauline and Joe; and three brothers, Kenny Foust, Tom Foust, and Joseph "Bud" Foust.

The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 p.m. on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. Rev. Dickie McKeever will officiate
