Steven Scott Maurer

Steven Scott Maurer, 59, of Lima, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at his residence.

He was born on August 30, 1958 in Lima, OH to Warren Rex and Alice Jeanne (Knight) Maurer. His father survives him.  He was the grandson of the late Emil and Effie Maurer and late Hubert and Alice Knight.

Steve was a 1976 graduate of Lima Senior High School and a 1980 graduate of Bowling Green State University with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration.  He was employed by Anheuser-Busch Sales of Lima.

Steve enjoyed many sports, from baseball to racing – and was known by family and friends for his yearly Indy 500 parties.  He was actively involved in coaching his children during their time in youth sports.  He loved to travel, particularly his annual trip to watch spring training baseball in Phoenix, Arizona.

Steve is survived by his son Kyle (MaryAnne) Maurer, son Andrew (Jamie) Maurer, daughter Rachel (Nathan) Evans, grandchildren Cydney Maurer, Carson Maurer, Olivia Evans, Caden Maurer, and Kyle Maurer Jr., former wife Sherri Maurer, sister Kim Pisel, brother David Maurer, and significant other Diane Slechter.  He was pre-deceased by his grandson Cohen Maurer.

His family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, OH. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 11AM and will be officiated by Pastor Steven Edmiston. Burial will follow at Historic Woodland Cemetery & Arboretum in Dayton, Ohio.
