Steven Parlette

Steven F. ?Steve? Parlette 59, died at 6:33 a.m. October 28, 2009, at his residence. He was born June 4, 1950, in Lima, Ohio to Jack B. Parlette and E. Jean Kave Rader. His father preceded him in death. His mother and stepfather, Ned Rader, survive in Lima, Ohio. Mr. Parlette worked at Ottawa Valley Center, in the garden center at Lowe?s, and at the Forget-Me-Not Garden Center. He loved gardening and decorating. One of his favorite holidays was Christmas. His dream was to write a book on herbal remedies to heal cancer. He loved his pets Gus, Pepper and Smokey. He will be missed by many. He was a star in many people?s eyes. He has now arrived home with Jesus. He won the fight. Survivors also include a sister, Joanna Parlette Gross, of Lima, Ohio; his special friend, Hal Mowery, of Lima, Ohio; a special nephew, Shawn (Chris) Parlette, of Columbus Grove, Ohio; two nieces, Shannon (Steve) Mellano and Missy (Rick) Hesser, who was special, both of Lima, Ohio; and several great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Parlette; paternal grandparents, Waldo and Emerald Parlette; and maternal grandparents, Effie Vaughn and LaVern Kave. Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Shawn Parlette and the Rev. Wesley Barnhill will officiate. Burial will be in Shawnee Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
