Teresa Swarner

Teresa M. Swarner, 84, died at 11:30 p.m. October 14, 2010, at Springview Manor Nursing Home. She was born August 17, 1926, in Lima, Ohio to Dominic and Teresa D?anna Giovinazzo, who preceded her in death. On April 26, 1975, she married William Swarner, who died February 29, 1996. Mrs. Swarner had worked at A&P Store for 36 years and retired in 1981. She was a former member of Fraternal Order of Eagles and Veterans of Foreign Wars. She enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, playing cards and was a huge Cincinnati Reds fan. Survivors include a son, Jon M. Hayes, of Lima, Ohio; four daughters, Danielle (Chris) Plank, of North Lewisburg, Gina Ruhlen, of Lima, Ohio, Barbara (Tim) Burnett, of Kenton, Ohio, and Brenda Benjamin, of Lima, Ohio; and nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Billy Swarner. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. David Ross will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Lima. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
