Terry BASSITT

TERRY BASSITT, 58, died at 9:25 a.m. Aug. 1, 2006, at Lima Memorial Health System. He was born Oct. 24, 1947, in Lima to Junior and Mary Rose Gott Bassitt, who preceded him in death. On Feb. 26, 1994, he married Diana Mowrey, who survives. Mr. Bassitt was an analyst for the waste water department for the city of Lima. He was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275 and American Legion Post 96. He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, serving from June 21, 1966, to April 7, 1970. Survivors also include a daughter, Melyssa Ferris of Columbus; two sons, John Ferris of Sacramento, Calif., and Cristian Bassitt of Lima; and four grandchildren, Kyle, Elayna, Isaiah and Anthony. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Gerard Catholic Church. Father George Blasick will officiate. There will be no visitation.
