The Rev. Thomas P. Arheit 64, died at 1:10 a.m. February 16, 2010, at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay, Ohio. He was born May 18, 1945, in Sandusky, Ohio to John F. and Eloise Marquardt Arheit, who preceded him in death. On July 6, 1968, he married Beth B. Ringsmith, who survives in Lima, Ohio. The Rev. Mr. Arheit was ordained in 1971 and served as pastor at Martin Luther Lutheran Church, Youngstown, Ohio, for 10 years, and at Peace Lutheran Church, Lima, Ohio, for 17 years. He served as an interim pastor at several Lutheran churches in northwest Ohio until his retirement in 2008. At the time of his death, he was assisting part time at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Lima, Ohio. Survivors also include two sons, Tim (Dawn) Arheit, of Delphos, Ohio, and Andrew (Deana) Arheit, of Blacklick, Ohio; five grandchildren, Dylan Arheit, Deanna Arheit and Tyler Arheit, all of Delphos, Ohio, and Caitlyn Arheit and Nathan Arheit, both of Blacklick, Ohio; and a brother, David (Laura) Arheit, of Genoa, Ohio. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Luke Lutheran Church. Bishop Marcus Lohrmann and the Revs. Dennis Maurer and Lars Olson will officiate. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
