The Rev. Ferman Hall, 74, died at 11:50 a.m. October 20, 2008, at his residence. He was born May 9, 1934, in Barbourville, Kentucky, to John W. and Rosa Mae Hibbard Hall, who preceded him in death. On March 29, 1975, he married Sheila R. Wilson, who died September 9, 2008. The Rev. Mr. Hall retired as a service manager from Brown Supply Co. after 46 years and was a pastor in churches in Defiance, Ohio, Broughton, Ohio and Lima, Ohio, and an associate pastor in Continental, Ohio. He was founder and pastor of Lima Deliverance Tabernacle. He had also worked at Pangles Supermarket and Ferm?s Janitorial Service. He had served on the Lima City Council from 1985 to 1989. He was a charter member of Hope Neighborhood Association, where he held several offices. He was a member of American Legion Post 96. He was an Air Force veteran. He was a fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and The Ohio State University Buckeyes. Survivors include three sons, Richard (Faye) and Michael, both of Lima, Ohio, and Thomas (Sue), of Phoenix; three daughters, Kay, of Lima, Ohio, Sondra (Allen), of Wapakoneta, Ohio, and Wendy (John), of Lima, Ohio; a brother, Kenneth (Brenda) Hall, of Elida, Ohio; and 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Darrel Wesley Hall; and a sister, Darlene Hall. Services will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at Full Gospel Temple of Lima. Dean Evans and Joe Compton will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. In celebration of his life, he has requested his family and friends refrain from wearing black attire at his funeral. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
