Thelma L. Faze 84, died at 10:35 a.m. November 2, 2007, at Lima Manor Nursing Home. She was born May 16, 1923, in Boonville, Indiana, to Roy and Gertha Gaston Smith, who preceded her in death. On September 21, 1938, she married Leonard Faze, who died in 1988. Mrs. Faze moved to the area with her family in the 1920s and settled in Lima. She met the love of her life, Leonard A. Faze, and married in Indiana. She worked for many years in the office of Pangle?s Master Markets and later for Jack Young Insurance and Grismer Tire Co. She was a member of St. Mark?s Methodist Church and took pride in being a good homemaker and spouse. She fussed over every holiday dinner and took great pride in having everyone home for the holidays. She was a longtime member of the Kemp Ladies Aid and greatly enjoyed going on bus tours with the seniors group at St. Mark?s Methodist Church. She was always ready to join friends for dinner, take in a movie, or so see the latest show at Encore Theatre. Survivors include a daughter, Judith (Tom) Yazel, of Windermere, Florida; a son, Jerry L. (Julie) Faze, of Lima, Ohio; two grandchildren, Bradley (Rebecca) Yazel, of Watervliet, Michigan, and Amy (Kelly) Moyer, of Orlando, Florida; four step grandchildren, Ben, Michael, Suzanne and Andrew, all of Lima; six great-grandchildren, Ian, Bradley, Emma, and Isaiah Yazel, all of Watervliet, Michichiga , and Kieriay and Clayton Moyer, both of Orlando, Florida. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Leroy Smith. Services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Bud Allison will officiate. Burial will be in Alstaeter Cemetery, Cairo. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Rita?s Hospice, 770 W.
