Theodore “Ted” Raymond Spieles

77 of Lima, died at 4:00 p.m. Monday, November 19, 2018 at the beautiful Kobacker House in Columbus, with his family at his bedside after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born September 8, 1941 to the late Hubert A. and Mary Irene (Davis) Spieles. On April 4, 1964 he married RoseAnne (McCracken) Spieles, who survives.

He is also survived by his children, Kim Rutter, Clark (Jennifer) Spieles, Shelly (Brent) Ward, D’Anna (Eddy) DeMoss, all of Lima, OH, and Ronda (Dave) Butler of Chicago, IL; brothers, Ron Spieles, Vandalia, OH, Larry Spieles, Minster, OH, Mike Spieles, Knoxville, TN and sister Marilyn (Spieles) Kugler, Daytona Beach, FL

Ted enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing and being in the woods. He especially loved sitting around campfires and spending time with his beloved grandchildren, Sam Rutter,Jonathan Rutter, Timmy Rutter, Michael Rutter, Michaela Rutter, Gabriel Rutter, Benny Rutter, Vincent Stoner, Kylie Spieles, Logan Spieles, Celia Spieles, Jacob Ward, Trenton Ward, Chloe Ward, Brayden Ward, Landon DeMoss, Garrett DeMoss, Collin Butler, Laura Butler and great granddaughter Mila Ward.

Ted grew up in Delphos, OH where he attended Delphos St. John’s Catholic School,  and then attended The National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, IL. Ted spent 23 years in private practice helping countless people be the best they could be, not only physically but emotionally as well.   Ted never knew a stranger and loved people. No one ever left him without receiving a hug, a laugh or a smile. Ted has given the ultimate gift by donating his body to The Genesis Legacy Whole Body Donation Foundation for the advancement of science.

A private celebration of life for family and close friends will be determined at a future date.  As said by Ted “Forward ever, backward never!”
