THOMAS J. "TOM" DeVITA, 59, died at 12:45 p.m. April 8, 2006, at St. Rita's Medical Center. He was born on March 29, 1947, in Bethesda, Md., to Matthew and Dorothy Eilerman Clement DeVita, who preceded him in death. On Sept. 24, 1964, he married Nodja Keller, in LaFayette, GA. She who survives in Lima, Ohio Mr. DeVita was a self-employed truck driver. He was a member of Cable Road Alliance Church and Eagles Aerie 370. He loved golf, bowling and trucking. He loved his wife, sons and his "girls" Megan (deceased), Sophie and Molly. Survivors also include three sons, Tim DeVita of Van Wert, Tony DeVita of Lima and Bill DeVita of Jacksonville, Fla.; two brothers, Ronald DeVita and Jim DeVita, both of Lima; two sisters, Mary Ann DeVita of Canton and Dianne (Myron) Sneary of Lima; and several nieces, nephews and great-neices and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Richard DeVita. Services will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Ron Jones and the Rev. James Neighbors will officiate.
