82, died at 1:30 AM on Saturday, December 03, 2016, in Lima, Ohio.
Thomas was born October 8, 1934 in Lima to Frank and Myrtle Priddy Frail, who preceded him in death.
On December 22, 1956, he married Carolyn (Cantieny) Frail, who preceded him in death on July 12, 2012.
Mr. Frail was a 1953 graduate of Lima Central High School where he lettered in football, baseball and wrestling. Tom attended Bowling Green State University for one year but was then drafted into the U.S. Army in 1954 and served as a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne Division at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. He was honorably discharged in 1956 and then completed his college education at Bluffton University in 1960 with a B.S. in education.
Tom was a teacher/coach at Lima Public Schools from 1960-1965, Bath High School from 1965-1967 and Shawnee High School from 1967-1986. He also coached wrestling, football, baseball and soccer and served as athletic director at Shawnee. Tom was inducted into the Shawnee High School Hall of Fame for his years of service in 1991. After retiring from Shawnee in 1986 Tom served as Placement Director at Northwestern Business College (UNOH) from 1986-1999.
Tom also volunteered at Lima Memorial Health systems and served as President of the LMH auxiliary from 2003-2004.
Tom was an active member of Westside United Methodist Church (formerly High Street UMC) and chaired the Building Project for the addition of the Family Life Center at Westside.
Tom along with his wife Carolyn were awarded the "Golden Deeds Award" in 2010 by the Lima Exchange club. They were honored for their service to their community, church and especially to Lima Memorial Helath systems where they logged more than 15,000 hours of service.
Tom was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa, uncle, cousin and friend. He had a fabulous sense of humor and didn't know a stranger. Tom was always quick with a smile or a handshake and will be remembered for his generosity, integrity and strong faith in God, which was evident in all aspects of his life.
Tom is survived by his two daughters: Laura (Jason) Waltz of Lima and Natalie (Mike) Schaublin of Westerville four grandchildren: Tom (Nicole) Waltz of Fairmont, West Virginia, Katy Jo Waltz of Daytona Beach, Florida, Matthew (Katie) Schaublin of Columbus and Kevin (Allie Doriot) Schaublin of Bowling Green; Tom is also survived by a sister, Betty Kunkleman of Lima and two sisters-in-law, Joanna Frail of Lima and JoAnn Cantieny of Titusville, Florida.
Tom was preceded in death by a sister, Maxine Frail and three brothers, Donald (Marilyn) Frail, James (Betty) Frail and Marion (Peck) Frail, and a brother-in-law Dwight Kunkleman
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 5, 2016 from 1:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral home.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at 11:00 A.M. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor William Cronk will officiate.
Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.
