Tomylu M. "Lu" Goodwin,

90, passed away at 1:50 PM on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at her residence in Lima.

Tomylu was born on Friday, July 3, 1925, in Lima, to the late Albert D. and Emmaline B. (Hess) Garns. On Saturday, June 19, 1948, she married Gerald Gene Goodwin, who preceded her in death on March 26, 2002.

Mrs. Goodwin was a Secretary for the Lima City Board of Education for five years. She had also worked for Lynn Timmerman Ford and the Allen County Treasurer's Office. She was a former member of Central Christian Church and a current member of the Shawnee Community U.M.C. Lu had volunteered with St. Rita's Hospice and was a member of the Lima Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Volunteer. She also belonged to the F.O.P. Lodge #21 Women's Auxiliary. Most importantly, her role as a grandmother was precious to her.

She is survived by a daughter, Kathleen (Matt) Lhamon, of Harrod, and a son, Keith J. Goodwin, (George Alexander-deceased), of Cincinnati; a granddaughter, Emily Lhamon, Fayetteville, AR.

She is preceded in death by two sisters, Connie Krein and Peg Barnett.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 PM and from 6 to 8 PM on Sunday, April 17, 2016 and 10 to 11 AM on Monday, April 18, 2016 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.

A funeral service will begin at 11 AM on Monday, April 18, 2016 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio. The Rev. Todd Cosart will officiate.

Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.
