Tony Darnell Simpson

Tony Darnell Simpson, age 53, of Lima, Ohio passed away on September 23, 2021, at his residence.

Tony was born on November 20, 1967 to Katie Mae Shurelds Simpson and Charles Lee Simpson, who both proceeded him in death.  He leaves behind his siblings, Stacey Leon, Bernadine Crisp and Philip (Joselyn) Simpson all of Lima.

Tony attended Lima Senior High School, where he had many friends.  Tony always seemed to find his way in the kitchen, whether at home or at work.  He was currently employed as a cook at Buffalo Wings & Rings.  Cooking was his thing, as well as his love of fishing, which he would do every day if he could.  Tony would say that he loved the neighborhood where he grew up and lived on the west side of Lima.

He was close to his sister Stacey and would always say “I love you” when they spoke.  Another dear sister at heart was Theonia Snyder, who loved her big brother Tony and he loved her.  Tony also had two nephews that he loved dearly, Terry Simpson and Damarco Glenn, whom he talked to frequently.  He also leaves to cherish his memory cousins/brothers, Bruce Shurelds, Keith Jackson, and Andy Glover; and many nieces and nephews, whom he adored.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Gregory Simpson and Charlie Jr. Simpson; paternal grandparents, Sammie Lee Simpson and Bertha (Clark) Simpson; and maternal grandparents, Cleveland Shurelds and Dora (Amerson) Shurelds.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday, October 1, 2021 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.   The funeral service will follow at 12 noon.   Rev. James Bolling will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
