Truman Cloyce Overly 84, died at 7:11 p.m. January 25, 2010, at St. Rita?s Medical Center. He was born December 17, 1925, in Kenton, Ohio to Truman Cloyce and Irene Kinnear Overly Sr., who preceded him in death. On July 13, 1947, he married Helen L. Reth, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mr. Overly was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275 and American Legion Post 96. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II serving from March 17, 1944, to July 21, 1946. He was an avid reader and a very helpful and giving person. He volunteered at the Senior Citizens every Wednesday night. Survivors also include two daughters, Mary Louise (John P.) Norman, of Lima, Ohio, and Linda Sue (Clifford) Lindstrom, of Glendale, Arizona; a son, Charles Wilbur (Alice) Overly, of Lima, Ohio; and a granddaughter, Hannah Mariah Overly, of Lima, Ohio. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilbur Charles Overly and Edison Gene ?Bud? Overly. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church. The Rev. Kent Wilson will officiate. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, and one hour prior to services Friday at the church.
