V. Ruth States, 90, of Chillicothe, Ohio, formerly of Lima, Ohio, died at 11:57 a.m. on July 14, 2010, at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe. She was born February 24, 1920, in Claiborne County, Tennessee, to James Harrison and Allie Florence Heck Beeler, who have preceded her in death. On June 9, 1979, she married Edward States, who survives in Chillicothe, Ohio. Mrs. States was a member of Ida Rebekah Lodge #391, Spencerville, Ohio. She had been a member of Lima Grace United Methodist Church before moving to Chillicothe. Survivors also include six grandchildren, Reba Swaw, Neva Joslin, Dennis Daugherty, Danny Daugherty, Erika DeMint and Kirk Stephens; a step-son, David States, of Mount Sterling, Ohio; a step-daughter, Sandra (Kenneth) Stephens, of Chillicothe, Ohio; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, James Daugherty; a grandson, Scotty Daugherty; five sisters, Ellen Shipley, Mossie Pierce, Florence Broyles, Lillie Grosclose and Hazel Berens; and three brothers, Edgar Beeler, General Lawton Beeler and Walter J. ?Will? Beeler. Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 17, 2010, at Chamber-lain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio. The Rev. Tim Benjamin will officiate. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum, Lima, Ohio. Friends may call from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 16, 2010 at the funeral home.
