Verda C. Partee, 105, died at 3:05 a.m. July 12, 2008, at Lima Convalescent Home after a short stay there. She was born June 16, 1903, in Lima to Joseph P. and Anna Wilheim Gath, who preceded her in death. She was married to W. Virgil Reynolds, who died in 1965; then she married Daniel A. Gerig, who died in 1981; and Donald Partee, who died in 1999. Mrs. Partee was a lifelong member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a former member of its Mary Circle. In her earlier years she was a singer in Chicago, Columbus and home talent shows at Faurot Opera House and Orpheum Theatre in Lima. She was a secretary for Reynolds Electric Co. In later years she participated in the Senior Citizens Ragtime Band. Survivors include a granddaughter from a previous marriage, Margaret Van Waning, of Lima; several grandchildren, stepgrandchildren, great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Anna Schultz, Elizabeth Harrow and Catherine Gibbons; and numerous nieces. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Matthews Cemetery, Lima. Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
