79, died at 1:10 PM on Friday, February 24, 2017, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.

Verlin was born on September 6, 1937, in Allen County, Ohio, to the late Charles Thoburn Lawrence and Helen Irene (Hefner) Lawrence.

Verlin married Judy Herbert on June 26, 1966. She survives in Elida. He retired from Ford Motor Company after 34 years. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a former member of Grace United Methodist Church for 58 years. He was also a member of the United Methodist Men and a member and past president of the Hammond Organ Society and the Hallelujah Saints Band.

He is survived by a son, Brian Lawrence, of Lima, OH, daughter, Gwen Lawrence, of Lima, OH; a sister, Joyce Brockert, of Lima, OH, brother, Stanley C. (Marie) Lawrence, of Lima, brother, Richard D. Lawrence, of Lima, OH, sister, Cheryl L. (Wally) Lawrence-Jones, of Delphos, OH; nephew, Jon (Michele) Brockert, of Elida, OH, niece, Janelle Lawrence, of Boston, MA and one great niece and two great nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.

A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Lima, OH. Rev David Harris and Pastor Franklin Cooley will officiate.

Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.
