Verna Mae Menchhofer 64, died at 6:12 a.m. January 16, 2010, at St. Rita?s Medical Center. She was born April 8, 1945, in Lima, Ohio to Charles Melvin and Ruby B. Day Bragg, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Menchhofer was a 15-year survivor of pancreatic and liver cancer. She was a preschool teacher and administrator for the Bradfield Community Center. She was an artist, enjoyed camping, loved her family deeply and was always there for them. Survivors include a daughter, Tammy Maynard, of Lima, Ohio; three sons, Charles Todd (Michele) Maynard and Timothy Lee Maynard, both of Lima, Ohio, and David Menchhofer, of Waynesfield, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Brittany Bowman, Shelly Maynard, Carmelle Maynard, Ashley Maynard, Nicholas Maynard, August Lalonne and Madelynn Menchhofer; and three great-grandchildren, Miles Joseph, James White and Joshua Mason. There will be no visitation or funeral services. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. James Leech will officiate.
