Viola Martha Fledderjohann, 93, died at 8 a.m. August 23, 2010, at VanCrest Healthcare Center. She was born September 30, 1916, in New Knoxville, Ohio to Lewis and Margaret Heidt Aufderhaar, who preceded her in death. On January 26, 1941, she married Orlando Fledderjohann, who died January 25, 1983. Mrs. Fledderjohann was a homemaker, wife and mother. She was a seamstress at Gregg?s Department Store, where she made custom draperies. She also sewed and donated walker bags to local hospitals. She had been a volunteer at Lima Memorial Health System, where she volunteered more than 9,300 hours. She was a member of First Evangelical & Reformed Church, where she played the piano for Sunday school and was a member of the choir for more than 30 years. She loved to sew and garden. Survivors include a daughter, Martha Jane Britt, of Gomer, Ohio; a son, David (Donna) Fledderjohann, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; four grandchildren, Melissa Griesdorn, Chris (Kathy) Britt, Lora (Keith) Dodson and Sara (Jared) Boll; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Taletha Schroer; and two brothers, Wesley and Albert Aufderhaar. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor Ed Rinehart will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
