Violet Marie Shirk-Fletcher, 89, died at 6:15 a.m. June 29, 2007, at Wapakoneta Manor Nursing Home, Wapakoneta, Ohio. She was born October 1, 1917, in Lima, Ohio to Joseph and Lavina Plummer, who preceded her in death. She married Glenn L. Shirk, who preceded her in death. She then married Paul C. Fletcher, who also preceded her in death. Mrs. Shirk-Fletcher had worked in sales. She was a member of Trinity Chapter Order of Eastern Star and the Order of the White Shrine, where she had served as a high priestess. Survivors include two daughters, Beverly (Don) Snook, of Elida, Ohio, and Glenda Maxine (Rick) Teman, of Constantine, Michigan; a son, Michael Lee (Joyce) Shirk, of Lima, Ohio; and five grandchildren, Kimberly (Kevin) Johnson, of Lima, Ohio, Candace (Frank) Johns, of Columbus, Ohio, Rhonda Bauldolf, of Delphos, Ohio, Jeremy Shirk, of Cleveland, Ohio, and Jason Ewing, of Lima, Ohio. She was preceded in death by five siblings, Vesta Shaw, Forest Plummer, Charles Plummer and Glenn Plummer, and Irene Gossard. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Ed Rinehart will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where an OES service will be held at 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the handicapped accessibility fund at First Evangelical & Reformed Church or the Elida Paramedics.
