76, of Lima, went home to be with our Lord and Savior at 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Lima Memorial Hospital in Lima, OH.
Violet was born on February 12, 1940 in Robinson, Illinois to the late Cloral and Edith {York} Taylor.
On February 16, 1957, Violet married the love of her life, Richard L. Glick, who survives in Lima. Richard taught Violet how to boil water and eventually became a gourmet cook. She was a member of Full Gospel Tabernacle. She loved her church family and cherished her family and friends. She was a loving wife and homemaker for 59 years and mom to more people than could possibly be counted. She was known as mom to everyone in St. Mary's as well as Lima. She was involved in her kids' activities where she became even more known in the community. Violet always worried about her kids. She took her last breath making sure they were okay. She was the type of mom that if you walked through her kitchen, she would grab you and dance. She loved cooking, reading her books, and going to Bob Evans for coffee.
She is survived by 2 sons; Wayne L. Glick and John (Karen) Glick, and a shared son, James (Cathleen) Bolden, daughter Mrs. Donnie (Linda Kay) Boroff Sr. and shared daughters; Mrs. Steven (Shannon) Vickery and Mrs. Rick (Tina) Miner, 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Her family will receive friends Monday, September 12, 2016 from 4-8 PM at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio.
A funeral service will begin on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 1 PM at the funeral home. Rev. Edward Jarrell. Interment will follow at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church Cemetery in Lima, Ohio.
