88 of Lima, Ohio died on Monday, September 3, 2012, at 6:25 P.M. at Baton Rouge Senior Health Facility in Lima, Ohio.
Born Monday, July 21, 1924 in Lima, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Clarence F. Bushong and Hilda M. (Klopfleisch) Bushong.
Violet married Earl F. Hardesty, he preceded her in death in May of 1955. Later she married Russell E. Gratz on December 16, 1961, he preceded her in death on May 25, 2011. She was a licensed Cosmetologist and also worked at St. Rita's Medical Center. She enjoyed playing cards, golf, cross stitching, cooking, and traveling. She loved her family and being with all of them.
Surviving are: a son, Roger (Joan) Hardesty of Lima, OH; nine grandchildren, Cindy (Jim) Liening, Tracy Poe, Glen Hardesty, Roger Hardesty, Jr., Mike (Tracy) Hardesty, Brad Hardesty, Michelle Hardesty, Sherry (Mike) Slone, Tracy (Byron) Phillips; eighteen great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, E. Frank Hardesty; grandson, Greg Hardesty; a sister, Jane Fiedler.
A Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Friday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima, OH.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, September 6, 2012, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
