Virgil J. Coffman 79, died at 2:14 p.m. February 3, 2010, at St. Rita?s Medical Center. He was born September 1, 1930, in Lima, Ohio to John and Emma Coffman, who preceded him in death. On March 6, 1949, he married Darlene Bok, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mr. Coffman was a member of Westside United Methodist Church. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Gold Wing Club. He loved his two dogs, Heidi and Katie, joking and being with his family. He retired as a supervisor from Lima Electric/Marathon Electric after 42 years. He was an Army veteran serving during the Korean War, from December 10, 1948, to March 23, 1950. His favorite pastime was eating at Casa Lu Al. Survivors also include two daughters, Cheryl (Robert) Maddy, of Wapakoneta, Ohio, and Deb (Glenn) Corbett, of Pensacola, Florida; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Jackson, of Lima, Ohio. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Coffman and James Coffman. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. William Cronk will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the funeral home.
