Virginia Irene Franks, 88 of Lima, Ohio died on Thursday, March 24, 2011, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio in Lima, Ohio.
Born Sunday, June 25, 1922 in Dayton, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Frank Bailey and the late Hazelene Barnhart Bailey.
Virginia was a member of Westside United Methodist Church and had taught Sunday school many years ago. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She had briefly been a practicing artist and sold her first commission piece for $2.00. She was interested in art, the Humane Society, flowers and her Bible Study.
Her body was donated to Wright State Medical College's Anatomical Gift Program and burial of her cremains will occur at a later date.
Surviving are daughter, Donna L. Franks of Lima, OH., a stepdaughter Helen (Darryl) Peters of New Lebanon, Ohio, a stepdaughter Nancy Farquer of Gratis, Ohio, three grandchildren, Megan Franks, Morghan Franks, Donielle Franks, many great grandchildren, a step son-in-law, Al Lesser of Georgia, and a special friend, Marcene Cook of Lima, Ohio.
A Memorial service will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at Westside United Methodist Church with the Rev. William Cronk officiating. Memorial contributions may be sent to Westside United Methodist Church.
