Virginia Grigg

VIRGINIA A. GRIGG, 86, died at 4:30 a.m. April 16, 2005, at Shawnee Manor Nursing Home. She was born February 20, 1919, in Lima, Ohio to Ephraim T. and Lena (Baker) Beery, who preceded her in death. On September 9, 1966, she married her second husband, Eldon Grigg, who died May 4, 1996. She married her first husband, Harold E. "Chic" Oen on June 22, 1939. He died May 21, 1965. Mrs. Grigg worked for Stippich Hardware for 18 years. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370 auxiliary. She loved traveling, visiting Las Vegas, playing bingo, fishing, her family and all her friends. Survivors included a stepson, Gary E. (Janet) Grigg of Elida, Ohio; a sister, Dorothy (Bob) Sterrett of Van Wert, Ohio; a brother, Gene (Peg) Beery of Lima, Ohio; a brother-in-law, Richard Hastings of Upper Sandusky, Ohio; a step granddaughter, Deana (Scott) Holmes of Elida, Ohio; a step great-grandson, Gage Holmes of Elida, Ohio; a special niece and caregiver, Cindy Kelly of Lima, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Fred (Lola) Beery; and five sisters, Frances "Sam" (Donald) Baker, Geraldine Hastings, Marie Sue (Richard "Pete") Rahrig, Velma (Jack) Young, and Helen Beery. Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Dr. Daniel Curtis will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
