Virginia L. Hefner,

98, died at 1:15 AM on Thursday, February 2, 2017, at St. Rita's Inpatient Hospice Unit in Lima, Ohio.

Virginia was born on Sunday, October 13, 1918, in Lima, to the late John W. and Laura Ethel (Witherspoon) Frail. In 1938, she married Richard L. Hefner Sr. who preceded her in death in 1993.

Virginia was a Receptionist/Assistant in the office of Dr. Evelyn Steere. She was very active in her church. She loved gardening, reading, and baking, and above all else she loved spending time with her family. Throughout her lifetime she enjoyed baking pies and cookies for family and friends.

She is survived by a son, Richard L. (Kathleen) Hefner, Jr. of Lima; two daughters, Anne (Tom) Patton of Findlay and Cynthia (Terry) O'Bryant of Cumming, Georgia; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and many, great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Louise Lutz and Anna Pauline Rone.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Goodwin; grandson, Kenneth A. Hefner; infant sister, Jean Frail; sister, Eloise Shutt and a brother, Richard Frail.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM on Monday, February 6, 2017 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio and one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the church.

A funeral service will begin at 12 PM on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Westside United Methodist Church in Lima, Ohio. Pastor Bill Kronk will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.
