Virginia A."Ginny" Stedcke
93, died at 10:42 PM on Monday, July 20, 2015, at Lima Convalescent Home in Lima, Ohio.
Virginia was born on December 23, 1921, in Lima, Ohio, to the late William C. Stedcke and Cora A. (Sutton) Stedcke.
Virginia was a 1939 graduate of Elida High School. She was a member of St. Rose Parish. She had worked at the DWG Cigar Factory and the Army Tank Depot during WWII. She later went to work at the Lima Memorial Hospital in the Admitting Office. She was a great softball player as a young woman and she liked bowling, gardening and the great outdoors.
She is survived by her best friend of over 50 years, Sheila Sano and also Virginia "Ginger" Woods and "Butch" Perrine, both of whom she raised.
She was preceded in death by her brother William Stedcke Jr.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, July 24, 2015 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 AM on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at St. Rose Catholic Church, Lima. Father David M. Ross will officiate.
Interment will be in Salem Mennonite Cemetery, Elida, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Allen County Humane Society.
