Virginia "Gini" Swem,
age 88, born on December 12, 1925 in Dola, Ohio to Ora Rodenberger and Violet VanAtta Rodenberger who preceded her in death. On June 6th 1943 she married Tom Swem who died March 5, 1998. They were married 55 years.
Mrs. Swem was a homemaker. She was a member of Bath Community United Methodist Church. She was a member of the DAV-Aux and volunteered at the Humane Society for many years. She bowled 32 years on Early Bird League at Westgate lanes. She loved her Cleveland Brown and Ohio State football teams. She loved to play bingo and cards. Special thanks from Gini and her family to the dialysis unit at Lima Memorial Health Systems.
Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie J. (Mike) King, of Cairo, Connie M. (Robert) Leis of Elida. One son, Thomas O. (Carol) Swem of Lima; six grandchildren, Tim King, Jeff King Cristy Fischer, Scott Kollars, April Swem and Tom Swem; nine great grandchildren; one step sister, Wanda Fellows and one sister-in-law, Helen Rodenburger.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Bonnie Long, one half sister Evelyn Murphy and four step sisters, Rosie, Nonie, Joan, and Betty.
Visitation will be on October 29, 2014 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be on October 29, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor Charlotte Hefner will officiate.
Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bath Community United Methodist Church.
