Virginia E. Fisher White, 91, died at 5:55 p.m. September 8, 2009, at St. Rita?s Medical Center, Lima. She was born August 22, 1918, in Lima to George Harold and Nina Goodwin Fisher, who preceded her in death. On September 9, 1997, she married Walter L. White, who died Nov. 9, 2007. Mrs. White taught school for 34 years, serving as an art teacher at Lima Senior High School, Central Junior High School and Elida schools, where she also taught Latin. Additionally, she worked for Bluffton College and Ohio Northern University. She was a graduate of Lima Central High School and Bluffton College. She was a lifelong member of Grace United Methodist Church and Trinity United Methodist Church, the Adah Circle, the Foundation Board and the United Methodist Women?s Executive Board. Her other affiliations included the American Association of University Women, Art Study Council, Council for the Arts, Delta Gamma Society, Lima Art Association, P.E.O. Sisterhood, Chapter AS, Sorosis Club, and the Toledo Art Museum. Survivors include two stepsons, William H. (Cher) White, of St. Marys, Ohio, and Robert A. (Jeri) White, of Dublin, Ohio; three stepdaughters, Judy E. (Nelson) Coleman, of Chillicothe, Ohio, Carolyn W. (William) Kuehnle, of Upper Arlington, Ohio, and Patricia W. (Henry) King, of Martinez, Georgia; eight grandchildren, Kimberly White, Kevin Coleman, Chris Coleman, Gregory Kuehnle, Steven Kuehnle, Jennifer Newman, Jamie Newman, and Jeffrey White; and four greatgrandchildren, Henry Walzack IV, McKenzie Kuehnle, Teagan Kuehnle, and Ashley White. Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. James Kuhn will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Instead of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bluffton University.
