W. Raymond Lackey, 75, of Lima, Ohio died on Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at 5:09 pm, at the St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
Born Sunday, August 9, 1936, in Lima, he was the son of Waldo Lackey and Mary Winifred Hefner Lackey who preceded him in death. On June 12, 1955 he married Rosemary Mullenhour and she survives in Lima.
Mr. Lackey retired from the Ford Motor Company after 30 years as a Hilo driver. He was a member of the Ford Retirees. He had also served in the Army National Guard. He enjoyed farming, fishing and NASCAR.
Surviving are: a son, Jeff Lackey of Lima, OH; daughters, Karen Gwinn of Springhill, TN and Kim George of Columbus, OH, a brother, Howard (Irene) Lackey of Lima, OH, a half-sister, Edith Yant of Ottawa, OH., and a half-brother, Frank Winegardner of Lima. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: an adopted sister, Vivian McGue; four half-brothers, Wayne and Francis Lackey and Michael and Vaughn Winegardner.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 4, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at the Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Benjamin officiating. Friends may call Sunday, June 3, 2012, from 2:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
