Walter James "Jim" Flanagan,

86, passed away at 2:29 AM on Friday, June 12, 2015, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.

Jim was born on January 17, 1929, in Lima, to the late Ralph and Mary (Disbennett) Flanagan. On December 13, 1952, he married Joanne Patterson who preceded him in death.

Jim was a Korean War Veteran having served in the US Navy. He was retired from the Allen County Juvenile Court after fourteen years as the building supervisor. He was also a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, Eagles Aerie #90 and the Lima Beane Chorus.

He leaves: three sons, David (Suni) Flanagan of St. Mary's and Michael Flanagan of Lima, Steven (Robin) Flanagan of Lima; fiancé, Marilyn Stemen of Lima; seven grandchildren; Justin Flanagan, Eric Flanagan, Brook (Kevin) Smith, Heather (Jim) Gaus, Ashley Flanagan, Macy Flanagan, and Andrew Flanagan: nine great-grandchildren and one niece, Marsha Spayde.

He is preceded in death by two sisters; Pauline O'Connor and Eileen Flanagan.

The family will receive friends from 2 PM to 4 PM and from 6 PM to 8 PM on Monday June 15, 2015 with a Parish Wake Service at 8 PM, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 AM on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Lima, Ohio. Father Stephen Blum will officiate. Interment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery.
