After a lengthy illness and valiant struggle, Wanda Blowers, 89, died on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
Born the youngest child of Leslie and Mary Vierheller (dec.) she grew up in a close and loving family. On December 22, 1950 she married Gene Western Blowers (dec.).
Survivors include 3 daughters, Diane (Steve) Moening, Kathleen (Douglas) Stephan, and Gena (Don) Miller, 4 grandchildren, Jennifer (Jay) Wenger, Pamela (Alan Morton) Vierheller, Steven Moening, and Angela Moening, 4 great-grandchildren, Taylor Judy, Parker Judy, Lyla Wenger, and Greta Morton, her dear sister Doris Mosley, sister-in-law Mary Ann Vierheller and many nieces and nephews who adored her, and her life-long friend and best buddy Donna Thomas.
To know her was to love her. She was a kind and caring person who volunteered her time and energy to the Lima Memorial Auxiliary for more than 40 years. She took pleasure in gardening, playing games and was an avid reader. She was her family’s teacher right up to the end. The life lessons she taught us will live on.
Her family will celebrate her life with a private service and every day there after by aspiring to be like her.
Memorial contributions can be sent to Lima Memorial Auxiliary or St. Rita’s Hospice. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.chamberlainhuckeriede.com.
